Coupon Code Link

Is the link generated when creating a coupon code supposed to display £0 and have the 'Continue to Payment' button labelled differently? I feel this could be confusing for many users if it displays a cost and says 'Continue to Payment.'
Thanks

Hi Catherine! This is actually something we are looking into and has been reported by others as well.
If a user is logged in and visits a coupon checkout link, they will see the final checkout step and will see the product is free right away. For someone who is a brand new student signing up, they will see the first registration page that shows the original price until they get to the payment page when they will see the effect of the coupon.
We agree that if it isn't communicated to potential students what to expect, it could be confusing for them to not see the discount applied until they get to the second step of checkout.
We're working on having the first step of checkout for a coupon link still display the final price after coupon, so that this is more clear to students!

Thanks, that's great. I'll hold off on using that feature for now until it's implemented. Even if it's communicated, people don't read instructions, so I know I will receive emails about it if I start using it now.

Good news! This is fixed!
Now, when students go to a coupon link, they will immediately see the reflected price with the coupon applied without having to complete the registration step first.

That's great news! Just in time for tomorrow to test it out.

Just out of interest, what does 'Step 2 - Payment details' now look like?

Step 2 looks the same as it did. The only difference is now step 1 shows the price after discount, example here:
The biggest benefit here is for if you want to send out a coupon link with free access to some members, they will now be able to immediately understand that they will get access for free, and you don't have to explain that they will see the updated price on the second step of checkout.

Thanks!
I ended up doing a few hours testing so that I could refine the two emails that go out to avoid confusion.
I was able to see Step 2 and add that as an instruction, as the button on Step 2 says 'Join for Free'. I receive far too many questions from people about their accounts, so I wanted to be proactive with this one!
Started it with a new group today, let's hope they read the email properly! :)

Hi @heights-platform
After testing the process, I noticed a potential source of confusion on the landing page. Instead of directing learners to 'My Products' as I expected, it defaults to an 'All Courses' page.
Additionally, the navigation row ('Dashboard / All Products / My Products') is initially missing. I had to click the 'Home' button to reveal it, and then navigate to 'My Products'. This takes three clicks to get to the right place—manageable for me as someone familiar with the interface, but potentially frustrating for new users.
Would it be possible to adjust the default landing page so learners are taken directly to 'My Products'? This could streamline their experience and allow them to explore the rest of the site at their own pace.
It's been a useful exercise to do!

We've made this change! The "All Courses" page was a page that some older accounts like yours would have because this is what existed before the Student Dashboard update.
Now when a student completes a purchase for a course or bundle they will be taken to the My Products page. When the purchase a digital product, they will be taken directly to that product.
Hope this helps you and your students!

That's great to hear! This very much helps me too as I had to create a video for people to show them how to get to their course as I kept getting emails about it.
