Custom learning plans for students

I'm trying to think the best/easiest way to create custom learning plans for students. I can envision a questionnaire that would be tag based and provide results based on their selections. There are currently no tags in Heights. Maybe a quiz? Anyone using a quiz tool that might work? Or a Google Form??

We've seen some creators build "choose your story" type courses where they added 2-3 lesson links at the end of certain lessons that had some unique CSS styling and directed students to choose the lesson link based on a decision from the student about what they needed to learn, and then eventually they had a solution where once certain courses were completed it would trigger granting that student a certain other course via our API/Zapier.

Thanks guys that's got some possibilities. I'll have to do some playing and see what I can come up with.

Hey Barb - I struggled with the same thing and I am now trying Formly (through AppSumo) with custom conditional redirection. It is supposed to provide embedding, and would allow me to help focus a student on where they may need to refresh themselves. I am also hoping it will provide for individual dashboards at scale - but will let you know how it works. Please do the same if you find a solution without needing to code.

Hey @sparky-smith let me know how it goes or if you do any early testing. I see the app is still available in AppSumo and I might test it out. I do have a bit of an app addiction (think shoes but takes up less closet space) so am always open to testing out a new app! :)

Hi Barb,
I've been using JotForm (yearly subscription) for a while now with conditional logic and I hear that FillOut is becoming very popular. I then 'embed' the code in the lessons.
I spotted Formly on AppSumo, but I haven't tried it.

Formly is great and works well - I am impressed. Support is great and embeds beautifully into Heights. I will say it is very simple and plain but I don't need bells and whistles just functionality. I have tons of quizzes, surveys and metric capturing forms on my lesson plan. This allows me to know if a student is in trouble.

That's really good to know @sparky-smith, I'll go and check it out as it's still on AppSumo. Looks like I'll be able to move away from Jotform.

Thanks @sparky-smith
I'm trying to picture this in my mind… So you have them complete a "form" (Formly) and the results spit out the lessons or courses you recommend?
So the output is very similar to a quiz? Could you use it as a quiz on your website?
Which level did you purchase on AppSumo? I looked at it after you last posted and did not purchase because it didn't seem like the output would be custom when I read the description.
😊
