This post includes recommendations form ChatGTP, at the bottom, reason being I’m guessing there is not much else I could consider.

Certainly! Here's a revised version of your message:

I recently heard one of your staff on YouTube mention that advertising on Google might not be the best strategy when starting to sell a course. I have already invested time and some money into Google ads for my course, which prepares men to present at the birth of their baby. However, I feel I need support and direction regarding alternative approaches.

I have a significant number of followers on social media: 23,000 on Facebook and 8,000 on Twitter. Despite my efforts, Facebook marketing hasn't yielded much success.

Could you direct me to resources or strategies that could help me improve my marketing efforts? Your software is incredibly intuitive, which I appreciate as a newbie.

Thank you!

Feel free to post this on their community pages. If you need additional specific strategies or resources, here are some suggestions that might help:

  1. Content Marketing: Create valuable content related to your course topic. Blog posts, videos, and podcasts can attract organic traffic over time.

  2. Email Marketing: Build an email list from your social media followers and website visitors. Offer a free resource in exchange for email sign-ups and nurture these leads with valuable content.

  3. Webinars and Workshops: Host free webinars or workshops to showcase your expertise and offer a sneak peek into your course.

  4. Collaborations: Partner with influencers or other professionals in your niche to reach a broader audience.

  5. Community Engagement: Actively engage with your audience on social media by responding to comments, joining relevant groups, and participating in discussions.

  6. SEO: Optimize your website and content for search engines to increase organic traffic.

  7. Affiliate Marketing: Create an affiliate program where others can promote your course for a commission.

For more detailed guidance, you might want to explore marketing courses specifically geared toward online courses or reach out to a marketing consultant with experience in the e-learning industry.

Hi Mark, if you haven't yet, you should use Heights AI Coach! It is a coach specifically designed to guide you through this kind of issues. You can see it in your dashboard.

Once you have your first coaching session to answer some questions for it, it will start sending you weekly recommendations and tasks for your goals.

If you have a following already, we would recommend making it a goal of converting them to your email list either through a newsletter or a free product offer.

Social media algorithms may not show your content to every follower every time you post, but when you have an email list you can be sure they are going to receive your email. Often times your audience will require a few interactions before they purchase from you, so you will usually get them to buy from the email list rather than directly from social media.

Maybe you are already doing all this, but in case it helps anyone else as well, in general the process should be:

  1. Social posts that occasionally offer something of value in exchange for signing up to email list or joining free product in Heights.
  2. Deliver value through emails before pitching an offer.
  3. Let audience know through email you will pitch an offer soon.
  4. Pitch the offer via email.
  5. Remind them about offer via email.
  6. If there is a sale or limited time to enroll, let them know they have one last chance via email.

Many creators only do step 1 and 4. If you go through all 6 then offer the email from step 6 is what will bring the most sales.

Hope this helps!

Also, if you aren't seeing results with ads and aren't very experienced with them already, we'd suggest skipping them (maybe only retargeting ads if any for now).

Promoting organically and leveraging other people's audiences are the best ways to grow until you have dialed in your product and offer super clear. Then you can experiment more with ads as an acquisition channel.
