Hi! Tamica, HR Consultant and Executive Coach. I have had Heights for a while but wasn't using it and now I remember why. Is there any way to create an assessment on this platform?

While we do not have a built-in multiple-choice quizzing feature at this time, it is possible to integrate many third-party quiz tools with Heights Platform (there is also our unique Projects feature).

These are what we believe to be the most popular choices for embedding quiz content in lessons:

Quiz Maker - Create a Quiz Online With AI (Easy & Fast)The easiest quiz maker to create interactive online quizzes. Create a quiz in minutes using templates, AI, and 1000000+ ready questions on any topic.www.proprofs.comRiddle - The Ultimate Quiz Maker & Engagement PlatformPowering publishers, brands, and sports teams with 30+ interactive content types. Maximize engagement and revenue with Riddle.riddle.comtypeform.comhttps://typeform.comtypeform.com

https://h5p.org/content-types-and-applications

https://articulate.com/360/storyline

Which one of those above (if any) are useful for your business depends on the type of teaching you do.

In the toolbar of your lesson editor next to the 'insert image' button, there is an embed button which will allow you to paste in a third party embed code to add multimedia content to your lesson. Use this to embed a Google Form or Typeform, a spreadsheet from Airtable, a Google Doc, learning content from Articulate Storyline, quizzes from Riddle, and more.

Our current built-in assessment features are limited to our assignment-type lessons and our Projects feature, both of which are best suited for teaching creative subjects. We are actively working on additional assessment tools, but at the moment your best option would be to embed a third-party tool in your lesson.

I saw this answer from last year, was hoping that something had changed. Unfortunately, this isn't a solution for me, I need something that allows me to create assessments in order to pass the course and a written assignment or something like that won't work if the product is successful. It would need more automation and not individual grading.

We are surprised how so many of the solutions out there, specifically for quizzes and forms, are way more expensive than they should be for what they're actually providing.

We'd like to consider implementing something for you to have a more complex assessment directly in Heights, but in order to do that, we need to understand a bit more of exactly what you need it to do.

  1. Do you want something like a single multiple-choice question in each lesson or have the ability to create a number of multiple-choice questions per lesson?
  2. Will you require that the student has to select the correct answer in order to progress to the next lesson, or should their score get calculated only after they complete the entire course?
  3. Is there something that you need to do with the results of this quiz? For instance, if you could see the total score once a student completed the course, would you want a certificate to automatically award to them?
  4. Would it be helpful for you if Heights AI could generate possible multiple-choice quiz questions for you on your lesson based on the content of your lesson and course? Or maybe if Heights AI can help to do the evaluation so that individual grading isn't necessary?

Any other details you can share about your use case and how you would use this type of assessment inside Heights Platform would be helpful.

We're aiming to cater to our audience of creators, and not towards those who want to use Heights for some kind of formal/tedious compliance training style content, but we want to support the range of uses our creators have!

• YES they are. Which is why doing a third party option isn’t really much of an option for me.

• I would like to be able to, at the very least, create True/False and Multiple Choice questions at the end of each lesson or course.
Will you require that the student has to select the correct answer in order to progress to the next lesson, or should their score get calculated only after they complete the entire course?
• Being able to stop them from progressing would be ideal but after the entire course works well enough.
Is there something that you need to do with the results of this quiz? For instance, if you could see the total score once a student completed the course, would you want a certificate to automatically award to them?
• Yes! Ideally they would have a certificate awarded and I would be able to track if they passed.
Would it be helpful for you if Heights AI could generate possible multiple-choice quiz questions for you on your lesson based on the content of your lesson and course? Or maybe if Heights AI can help to do the evaluation so that individual grading isn't necessary?
• I don’t know that this would work with what I do but am open to the idea.
Any other details you can share about your use case and how you would use this type of assessment inside Heights Platform would be helpful.
• I would love to use the platform to create a community and courses for HR people. I am able to create courses and assign them professional development credits but to do this, I have to be able to show that they completed the course.
• Thank you for asking about this, I love the platform, it is very user friendly on the creator end and want to be able to finally use it.

Really appreciate the feedback @tamica-sears! We recorded all this in our notes and will keep you in mind if we have any kind of beta related to a feature like this in the future.

With a third party assessment, how does it work so that the person doesn't get the certification until after they pass the class? Also, is there a way to only pass the class after doing a final project?

You can set the certificate to either grant automatically when the course is completed, or grant manually.

If you want to grant it after reviewing the student's submissions or project post, then you can grant it manually.
